20-y-o St James woman charged in deadly shooting

Tiandra Reid, a 20-year-old saleswoman from Montego Bay in St James, has been charged with murder following the shooting death of a man in a staged car deal.

It is alleged that Reid contacted the deceased, 42-year-old Robert Harvey, via cell phone and told him she had an interest in a vehicle he was selling.

According to the police, while Harvey waited for the supposed buyers, he was pounced upon by armed men in a Toyota Corolla Axio motor car, who opened gunfire hitting him before escaping in the area.

It is reported that Reid was aboard the vehicle with the armed men.

The police were summoned, and on their arrival, Harvey was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation was conducted and Reid was arrested on Tuesday, June 6.

She was subsequently charged on Tuesday, June 20 with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and misprision of a felony after a question-and-answer session.

Her court date is being arranged.
