'Shabba' killed in front of daughter, girlfriend
Clarendon shopkeeper Carlton 'Shabba' Haughton, was shot dead in front of his girlfriend and daughter after a lone gunman entered their home on Tuesday.
His girlfriend was also shot, but managed to escape with the child. She was assisted to a hospital for treatment. The child was unharmed.
The incident, which happened in Bucks Heights in Effortville, Clarendon, took place some time after 11 p.m.
The 32-year-old Haughton, his girlfriend, and his daughter were the only ones inside their house when the lone gunman gained entry and entered their bedroom.
Investigations into the incident is under way.
The parish of Clarendon has seen a 39.5 per cent increase in murders as of June 24. That is, 53 murders have been committed when compared to 39 homicides over the corresponding period last year.
