Man tries to sell stolen car online
A Corporate Area man has been accused of trying to sell a stolen motor car.
The accused, Oshane Cooper, is charged with misprision of a felony, and was remanded in custody until July 11, after it was shared in the Kingston and St Andrew Pariah Court on Tuesday that his lawyer Nicolette Hamilton was not present. Cooper's bail application was not heard.
It is alleged that on April 12, a woman was robbed at her gate by two men armed with handguns of her 2008 silver Toyota Belta motor car, which was valued at $800,000.
Two days later, the woman saw her vehicle for sale at a price of $300,000, on a social media platform. A sting operation was conducted and Cooper was arrested and charged following a question-and-answer session. Detectives theorised that Cooper knew the vehicle to be stolen.
