Riding the riddim! - Sex toy has users buzzing to the dancehall beat
Adult novelty company, Sensual Contentment, said that it has been receiving good feedback after introducing a line of music-activated vibrators that buzz to the beat of dancehall songs.
The line, dubbed the Private Show, features a 'rose', which is a popular rose-shaped vibrating sex toy that buzzes to tracks from the genre. Co-owner of Sensual Contentment, Kevin Reid, told THE STAR that he conceptualised the Jamming Rose while he was a part of Dexta Dap's touring team. Reid stated that there are no copyright infringements with the product and its features.
"There is no sound that comes from the toy, it just vibrates to the beat of the songs. But how you would know what song it is, there is a QR code that is on the toy, and when you scan that code, it will take you to a playlist on whatever streaming platform you choose. So you can play the song while it is vibrating. There is no sound coming from the toy as the code directs them [users] to the streaming platform. We don't make money off the streaming. That money is solely for the artiste, producer and others who are involved," Reid said.
Reid said that the early feedback has been good.
"They [customers] mostly speak about the accuracy ... that they can actually feel the song," Reid said. Sensual Contentment was incorporated in March, and Reid said the entity is currently designing another toy for breast sensuality .
"A patent has been filed for the technology of turning music to vibration. So we can use this technology on anything, not just the adult industry," Reid said.
With the fusion of dancehall music, he said the orgasms, may be even more intense.
"The girl can then imagine making love to the singer's songs, while feeling the vibration and song. [You can] choose to control the toys yourself or let your tunes take control, variating the sensations based on the cadence of the beat," Reid said.
He said that while the company has not struck deals with any artistes yet, there are a few with whom the entity would like to collaborate.
"Other than self pleasure, we also have the vision of making it a fanbase novelty, giving fans an opportunity to be with their favourite artistes behind closed doors doing whatever they desire," Reid said.
