Police probe suspected suicide of hotel executive chef
The St James police have launched an investigation into the suspected suicide of 55-year-old Arturo Edwardo Avila Zarraga, a Mexican national who was on the island working with one of the major all-inclusive resorts in Rose Hall.
It is reported that Zarraga's body was found hanging with an electric cord around his neck tied to his closet in his apartment at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
It is also reported that he left a note stating he was being treated like an animal. However, the police did not confirm that a note was found with his body.
The police say there was no sign of forced entry into the deceased's apartment or any signs of violence observed.
More details soon.
