Murder accused's wife left devastated after bail revoked

September 19, 2023

An American woman who flew to Jamaica to marry the co-defendant in Portland businessman Everton 'Beachy Stout' McDonald' s murder case, was yesterday left devastated when her husband's bail was revoked.

The woman and the accused, Oscar Barnes, got married on Sunday.

She was seen crying and following her husband as he was led from the courtroom in handcuffs. Barnes was overheard telling her to trust God.

The 33-year-old tiler was granted bail earlier this year and had been enjoying his freedom up until Justice Chester Stamp revoked his bail on Monday.

Barnes is jointly charged with McDonald for the July 2020 murder of the businessman's second wife Tonia Hamilton-McDonald.

Tonia's partially burnt body was found with the throat slashed beside her burnt car along the Sherwood Forest main road.

Another man, Denvalyn Minott, said to be the contract killer, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Minott, in a witness statement, claimed that he was offered $3 million by McDonald to kill his wife.
