Trelawny labourer charged following shooting
Orie Armstrong, a 37-year-old labourer Falmouth in Trelawny, was arrested and charged after he allegedly shot and injured his neighbour during an argument on Saturday.
He has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The Falmouth police report that about 11:00 a.m., Armstrong and his neighbour were arguing when Armstong went to his house and returned with a gun.
He then fired several gunshots at the neighbour, injuring him in his abdomen. The neighbour escaped and was assisted by residents to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
A report was made to the police and Armstrong turned himself in later that day.
He was charged on Wednesday, September 20, and is awaiting a court date.
