Classes at St Richard's Primary and Early Childhood suspended following shooting

Classes at the St Richard's Primary School and the St Richard's Early Childhood Centre (ECC) have been suspended following the attempt on the life of the centre's principal on Thursday morning. 

Senior Superintendent of Police Sherika Service confirmed that the principal was the target of a gun attack, and that she was injured during the ordeal, but said she was not shot. 

"There was a shooting incident and we believe that she was the target but she was not shot and injured," Supt. Service told The STAR.

The shooting took place on Sunrise Crescent off Red Hills Road in St Andrew sometime after 7:00 a.m.

Parents have been contacted to collect their children as soon as possible.
