Missing 3-y-o found alive in bushes
After wandering from his home in Serge Island district, St Thomas, on Wednesday, three-year-old Karon Sullivan bravely spent the night on a section of the farm, alone in the bushes and the dark.
The toddler was found on Thursday morning and is said to be in good health following a trip to the hospital.
Deputy Superintendent Oneil Thompson, who is in charge of operations for the St Thomas Police Division, said that like the rest of the community, he is breathing a huge sigh of relief after learning that the infant was found safely. He said little Karon was last seen at home in the family's yard.
"His mother reported that he was outside and within like five minutes later, she wasn't seeing him. They made a search and he could not be found. This morning (Thursday) another search was done and he was found in the bushes on the farm. We are really relieved and happy that he was found and is in good health," he said.
Baby Karon was found by workers on the Serge Island Farm on which he resides with his family.
"He was outside with the dogs, but the dogs were somewhat giving a clue as to where he was, because based on my understanding, there were two dogs and one came back, and when they were looking for him, the other dog was running to them. Then it ran away back from them but they didn't follow it to see where it was running to," he said.
