For the first time, comedian and social media influencer Swiiss Lee will be spending the Christmas holidays away from his family.

Lee, who currently calls the US home, says he longs for the taste of his mother's tasty five meat meals and the reunion with his other relatives.

"Christmas nah go really nice because mommy nuh deh here. A the first one mi a spend away from mi family. Mi nuh really have any family around me. I am in Florida so mi ago fly go New York and spend it with my cousins, but it still nah go feel nice like when mi brother, mother, auntie dem deh deh. Mi affi go take plane and normally mi would just walk go up the road fi dinner. Mi nah go get di Christmas wake up call, a phone call ago do it now. It nah go be the same," he said.

But his spirits were lifted as he recalled his favourite Yuletide experience with his loved ones in Marverly, St Andrew, a few years ago. He stated that there was no exchange of gifts but the 'soul food' was what brought them together.

"Mi granny, mi bredda, uncle and everybody was there. It was the best Christmas ever. It was the first Christmas dinner that I was having with my entire family. My mother never tell us she was going to do it and she just surprised everyone. We live in the same community but everybody always busy, so we just get together and share jokes and just make memories. It was a few years ago but I just always remember it," he said.

"Mi just know say mi ago see four or five meat inna mi plate. Oxtail, chicken, curried goat and dem tings deh. Is like we wash out we belly from the day before and everything was just bare happiness," Swiiss Lee added.

Christmas Eve was also highly anticipated for Swiiss Lee as a youngster. He said the evening would not be complete without a visit to Half-Way Tree to experience the vibrancy of the city. On those days, Swiiss Lee told THE STAR that he and his friends would be dapper in their best outfits as they walked the streets and enjoyed the music and scenery.

"On Grand Market night, we would go Half-Way Tree inna we 'go outing' clothes and go buy some little things and come back. Mi nah go tell nuh lie, mi never used to get gifts for Christmas. A farrin mi come see dem tings deh really a happen. We never grow suh, but one ting mi sure we ago get is a special treatment where food concern on Christmas Day," he said.

The entertainer, who has more than 300,000 followers on TikTok, has used his platform not only to entertain but to raise funds for the needy. As he looks forward to 2024, he said that he will be expanding his brand, especially on TikTok and Twitch.

"Twitch is another social media platform but is mostly American people on it. Right now I am earning a lot of things out of TikTok right now," he said.

On January 20, Lee said he and fellow social media personality World Dawg will will be heading to Los Angles for TikTok Live Fest.

"TikTok paying for everything including air fare and accommodation. Thirty of us gong and we are the only two Jamaicans on it so that's a good look," he said.
