‘Badness’ shot dead in St Ann

A 56-year-old St Ann man, who goes by the alias Alcan Rose, otherwise called 'Badness' or 'Bax', was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Claremont, St Ann, on Sunday night.

This puts the parish's murder count at 18 up to March 23, three more than the corresponding period last year. It is theorised that Rose, of no fixed address, was killed about 10:30 p.m. According to police reports, at the time it is believed that Rose was killed, six loud explosions were heard near the Fesco Service Station in Claremont. About 7:30 on Monday morning, citizens discovered Rose's lifeless body with gunshot wounds and contacted the Claremont police.

When the police arrived at the location, they saw the body lying on its back with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest. Investigators processed the scene and the body was subsequently taken to the St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital where death was confirmed.
