St Elizabeth farmer charged with murder

Jermaine Reid, a 37-year-old farmer from Comma Pen district in St Elizabeth, was arrested and charged after he allegedly killed a colleague during a dispute they had in March. 

The deceased, 62-year-old Travie Powell, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital following the dispute with Reid on March 16.  

The police report that Reid wielded a hoe, striking Powell in the head.

The accused surrendered himself to police in the presence of his attorney on the 25th of March.

Following a question and answer session, he was formally charged in connection with Powell's death. His court date is being arranged.
