When dancer Black Blingaz and recording artiste Diamond Kelly tied the knot on February 4, social media erupted after one of their wedding pictures went viral.

Persons initially thought the groom was social media personality/entertainer LA Lewis. Looking dapper in a white suit with a crown similar to that worn by the 'Maroon emperor', Black Blingaz bears a striking resemblance to Lewis. Speaking with THE STAR yesterday, the couple said they had no idea that the photograph would capture the hearts of thousands.

"I just post a video and a picture right after the wedding and it just went viral. I danced for my wife and ... after that a lot of people were saying that she got married to LA Lewis; and there was a lot of controversy because we got married around the time that Miss Kitty had baby, and persons were saying that LA got married because of that and it was just a big talk. Our picture was everywhere," said Black Blingaz.

The dancer, given name Omar Gayle, said he has known his wife, given name Andrea Dunkelly, from they were students at Spanish Town High School. He laughed as she said he "knew" that she "always use to lust offa me because I was a famous boy in school, and was big on drama and the entertainment field".

After leaving school, Black Blingaz became popular on the dancehall scene and became affiliated with Black Roses Crew and Ravers Clavers. He also created the dance move 'Tek weh yuh self'. Diamond Kelly also carried on with her life, but her crush for the dancer never faded.

Black Blingaz said he too had a crush on her, but had "girls inna bundle" and paid attention to those who had shown interest.

"When she leave school she met her baby daddy. He passed away, and may God rest his soul," he said. "Whenever him use to send her out, instead she go into the nearby zone, she would go all the way to Half-Way Tree just to see me at Limelight and Skateland a dance," he said.

"Mi use to see him and the other dancers, and I would stand up for like five minutes and watch him and mi gone again. And when mi a come back, mi stand up for a next five minutes and then mi go home to mi babyfather," Diamond Kelly chimed in.

The two never laid eyes on each other for years, but in 2021, while scrolling through Facebook, the dancer said he came across a picture that grabbed his attention.

"Mi a say the person face look familiar, but she get thick up. Afterwards mi realise say a she and mi send her a message and she text back. She then tell mi say a long time she a eyes mi out and mi never know, and mi did surprised. We lose contact for about a year again, and mi start wonder what a gwan," he said.

Still a 'galis', the dancer said he had females falling at his feet but really needed a God-fearing woman.

"Diamond blow away every storm. I wasn't in a serious relationship when we start to connect, and she had just ended hers. We were both looking for someone godly and mi just call her phone and tell her say it was her husband calling," he said.

Diamond Kelly said Black Blingaz gave her the call that she was awaiting for the majority of her life.

*When him call mi phone and mi realise say a him, mi scream out and say, 'Weh yuh did deh? Look how long mi a search for you'. Him tell mi that the only way he is going to allow mi in his life was if I gave myself to God. He told me that he was my husband. We eventually got married and it was beautiful and our union is as strong as ever," she said.
