67-year-old Hanover man charged for stabbing of teen boy

A 67-year-old Hanover man has been charged for stabbing a 15-year-old boy during an altercation.

He is Igal Streets, otherwise called ‘Border’, a carpenter of Mount Pelier district in Sandy Bay, who is charged with wounding with intent.

The incident happened in his community on Monday, June 15.

Reports from the Sandy Bay police are that at about 3:07 p.m., Streets and the 15-year-old had an altercation which escalated and the teen was chopped by Streets with a machete.

He was assisted to hospital where he was treated and released.

A report was made to the police and a statement collected from the teen, which implicated Streets.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged.

A court date for him is being finalised.
