Furniture maker shot in Annotto Bay, St Mary home invasion

A furniture maker of Annotto Bay in St Mary, who survived a home invasion by an armed man, is now nursing a gunshot wound. 

The incident reportedly took place at 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday when a man armed with a handgun invaded the home of the 44-year-old Annotto Bay resident, whose name has been withheld by the police.

According to a police report, the man and his children were at home when a gunman entered through an unlock door and pointed a gun in his face and a struggle ensued.

During the struggle, the police said that another man, who is believed to be an accomplice to the gunman, entered the house and hit the homeowner on the head. 

It is understood that the homeowner fell to the ground, but was shot in his left hand by his attacker, who fled the scene, along with his accomplice.

The man was later taken to the Annotto Bay hospital where he was treated.
