Semi-automatic pistol seized in east Kingston, man arrested

The East Kingston police on Tuesday arrested a man over the seizure of a loaded semi-automatic pistol during an operation on Rockfort Corner Lane.

The 32-year-old is being held on reasonable suspicion of being in possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The police report that about 11:50 p.m., cops were on an operation in the area when a Beretta semi-automatic pistol affixed with a magazine containing six rounds 9 mm ammunition was found in his possession.

He was taken into custody and he is to be questioned and later expected to be charged.
