A season's best time of 9.81 seconds by Oblique Seville and a blistering 9.80 seconds from compatriot Kishane Thompson highlighted the men's 100m semi-finals in Paris.

Seville looked ominous in semi-final one as he comfortably took the sprint event ahead of American Noah Lyles who booked his place in the final after clocking 9.83 seconds.

National champion Thompson also looked comfortable in securing semi-final 3.

USA's Fred Kerley punched his ticket into the final following his season's best run of 9.84 seconds.

Jamaica's Akeem Blake did not advance to the final after he clocked 10.06 seconds for fifth in semi-final two.

The top four sprinters from semi-final two, Akani Simbine of South Africa (9.87), Letsile Tebogo of Botswana (9.91), Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy (9.92 SB) and American Kenneth Bednarek (9.93) all advanced to the final.
