Motorcyclist killed in St Mary crash

A motorcyclist has died at hospital from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident yesterday, along the Rio Nuevo main road in Stewart Town, St Mary.

The police are reporting that about 2:15 p.m. the deceased was travelling east along the main road when a grey Honda Accord motorcar entered the roadway from a minor road, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with the car's right rear section.

"The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained severe injuries to his legs, midsection, and upper body including his head, "said Commanding officer for the St Mary Police Division, Anthony Wallace.

The injured motorcyclist was transported to the St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed.

"The St Mary Police are urging all motorists to exercise caution on the roads, adhere to traffic regulations and prioritise safety to prevent further tragedies, "Wallace said.
