Lifeguard facing wounding charge

A 31-year-old lifeguard of a St Ann address has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident last Christmas Eve.

Reports from the Ocho Rios police are that Mikey Hoilett, of Mile End, Ocho Rios, and a female were at a party when an argument developed between them, during which Hoilett used a ratchet knife to stab the female twice in her abdomen. She was assisted to the hospital where she was admitted in serious condition. Hoilett subsequently turned himself in to the police last Wednesday.

Following a question-and-answer session he was officially charged on Friday. His court date is being finalised.
