Elderly farmer fatally shot while tending to cows

A 77-year-old farmer was shot and killed by an unknown assailant while tending to his cows in Sandy Bay, Clarendon yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Noel Myles of a Clarendon address.

Reports are that about 7:00 a.m., Myles was tending to his cows in an open lot.

Explosions were then heard and residents summoned the police.

He was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was assisted to the May Pen Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No motive has been established in Myles' case.

The May Pen Criminal Investigation Branch is conducting a probe in the matter.
