For more than two decades, Gail Dennis has neither seen nor heard from her younger brother - but with the recent passing of their mother, she now hopes that will change.

Dennis believes that her brother, Denmark Hamilton, who would be about 58 by now, was deported from the United States of America (USA) in the late 1990s when he was in his early 20s. However, she only learnt of this years later, as their mother had kept it a secret.

"All I knew back then was that he got into some trouble, went to a juvenile detention centre, and then when he turned 18, he went to a prison. I don't even know which one," she explained.

Both Dennis and her brother migrated to the USA during their teenage years after their mother filed for them. However, the two did not grow up together because they had different fathers and lived in different areas.

"The only time me and my brother spent together was when we lived with my mom, and even then we weren't very close. But he was still my little brother and I wanted nothing but the best for him," she explained.

On February 13, their mother, Enid Joyce Owens, died from renal cancer, leaving her estate to her two children. Now, Dennis is desperately searching and pleading with her brother, or anyone who may know him, to come forward.

"I want him to have his share, and our mother wanted the same thing, because before she died she was trying to find him, but she never did. So I just want to honour her wishes," Dennis explained, adding that if her brother has died, she would be willing to give his share of his estate to any children he may have, if they can provide proof of their relation to him.

She also told THE STAR that although she has no idea what her brother may look like today, she has older relatives, like her cousins and an uncle in Jamaica, who would be able to identify him. The last known record of Hamilton was a missing person's report from 2013, which stated that he was a 48-year-old landscaper living on Birdsucker Lane, Barbican, Kingston 8. He had reportedly been missing since December 2012. The report also stated that Hamilton was of brown complexion, medium build, and approximately 165cm (5 feet 5 inches) tall.

Anyone who knows Denmark Hamilton's whereabouts or has any information about any children he may have, is asked to contact Gail Dennis via email at addassa@yahoo.com.
