Elderly man fatally shot in St Ann

The death of senior citizen Irwin Thompson is under investigation by the St Ann police after he was found fatally shot in Runaway Bay in the parish on Sunday.

The 63 year old is of Swamp district, Moneague, St Ann.

About 6:29 a.m. residents of Rickets Drive, Runaway Bay, reportedly heard explosions and summoned the police.

Upon arrival of the police, Thompson was found along the roadway with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.

No motive has been established in Thompson's death.

The Discovery Bay Criminal Investigations Branch his probing the matter.
