Father of Usain Bolt has died

Wellesley Bolt, the father sprint legend Usain Bolt, has passed away.

He reportedly died at a medical facility in the Corporate Area earlier today.

Our news team was this afternoon informed by Sherwood Content residents, where Bolt lived, that he was transported from his home to the medical facility yesterday.

Effort to contact with Bolt's wife, Jennifer, were unsuccessful as it is believed she may have travelled to Kingston with him.

Wellesley Bolt was a well-respected figure in his community, where he operated a grocery shop for many years.

He became a highly sought-after figure by the media after his son rose to international fame as a track and field legend.

It is believed that he played a pivotal role in his son's career, reportedly encouraging him to give up cricket and focus on track and field.
