Car dealer charged with murder
Detectives assigned to the Manchester Police Division charged 32-year-old Sandre Swaby, otherwise called 'Budha', a car dealer of Bethel Isle, Newport district, with murder, following an incident in Lancaster district on May, 29, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Leondrew Clarke, otherwise called 'Leo' or 'John Wick'. Reports from the Mandeville police are that at 9:30 a.m., Clarke was sitting at his gate when he was pounced upon by men in a motor vehicle. Swaby alighted and opened gunfire in Clarke's direction, hitting him in the upper body. The men made their escape in the area in the motor vehicle. Clarke was assisted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police were alerted of the incident and the scene was visited and processed.
Further investigation carried out by the lawmen led to the apprehension of Swaby on March 26. He was subsequently charged on March 31, following and identification parade and a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney. In addition to murder, he was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
His court date is being finalised.
