Barber charged with allegedly making and storing guns in his home
The St Catherine North Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) has arrested and charged a barber who allegedly had four homemade guns and in his home following a joint police military operation in Thompson Pen, in the parish on Sunday.
Twenty-eight-year-old Calvin Waldron is charged with possession of prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, stockpiling and manufacture of prohibited weapon.
Reports from the Spanish Town CIB are that the lawmen acting on intelligence went in search of Waldron, and later found him.
He was apprehended and escorted to his house; where a search of the dwelling was conducted and allegedly yielded the homemade firearms, two 9mm cartridges and an empty magazine.
Waldron was cautioned, taken into custody and subsequently charged for the offences after a question and answer session.
His court date is being finalised.
