Titchfield High continues School's Challenge Quiz victory celebration
Celebration continues this morning as 2025 winners of TVJ's School's Challenge Quiz competition, Titchfield High School take their march of victory throughout the town of Port Antonio in Portland.
Dozens of cadets, cheer-leaders, students, teachers, and past students, some of whom are clad in the traditional blue and gold colors of the school are participating in the march.
The sound of vuvuzelas are echoing through the varied streets of Port Antonio including Foreshore Road, West Street, Harbour Street, and King Street, as the marchers, bearing banners, flags, and dutch-pot covers are revelling in the festivity.
Later today a formal function will be held at school to properly highlight and recogonize the academic achievement of the quiz members, along with their coaches.
Among the gifts that are expected to be handed over to the school challenge quiz team is a cash amount of $500,000 ftom the Portland Municipal Corporation, scholarship bursary valued at approximately $600,000 from West Portland Member of Parliament, Daryl Vaz, along with tablets for members of the winning team.
Additional East Portland MP Annmarie Vaz in whose constituency the school is located, has pledged $400,000 to members of the school's challenge quiz team.
Titchfield high defeated Jamaica College 26-23 in the grand finale on Tuesday April 8.
