Police trainee collapses and dies after training in St Elizabeth

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is confirming the passing of a trainee Constable who died after completing a physical training session in St Elizabeth on Tuesday.

JCF reports that at about 7:35 a.m., Thompson had just concluded his physical training session and was en route to his barracks when he collapsed.

On-site medical responders immediately administered CPR and transported him to the Black River Hospital in the parish.

He was later pronounced dead.

The JCF is withholding the identity of the trainee out of respect of the family at this time.

"The High Command extends sincere condolences to the trainee's family, colleagues, and the

NPCJ community. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available."
