The Guys Hill police descended upon the students and teachers of the Jubilee Town Primary School in St Catherine on Wednesday, bearing good cheers in the form of bun and cheese.

The occasion was done in the spirit of celebrating the Easter holidays.

"This is our second year and we acknowledge it as a meaningful contribution to community building and sound police interaction. We intend to continue this relationship as it showcase the multifaceted approach to service," Sergeant Kenneth McTavish said.

His views was echoed by Constable Chevon McKoy who has been at the Guys Hill station for 16 years.

"This is a deep rural school, therefore the working relationship starts from the children, so this is indeed a season for giving," McKoy said.

Principal Lileth Murphy said the school fully appreciate the positive community service shown by the cops.

"We are thankful for the support as it's the second year that the team gifted us with bun and cheese and other goodies. We have benefited from security, as the team shows a constant present. Plus they sponsored the winning student in our recent Miss Jubilee Pageant, this is a wonderful gesture,"Murphy said.

The Jubilee Town Primary school, should have had its sports day however the rains put a damper on the event, but the good cheers brought "sunshine" the consensus that the gesture for 2026 awaits.
