Man charged with robbing bearer in 2022
Twenty-nine-year-old Jahiem Romio is to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on June 10 for allegedly robbing a bearer in the parish on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
Reports are that at 5:45 p.m., the bearer was instructed to pick up a package at an address on Fairlane Drive to be delivered to a business place in New Kingston.
Upon arrival at the location, Romio and another man robbed the man of a Dell laptop and a Samsung cell phone and then fled the area on foot.
A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched into the incident.
The lawmen made a breakthrough in the investigation on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, when Romio was apprehended and taken into custody.
He was subsequently charged for the offence on Thursday, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
His accomplice is being asked to turn himself in to the police.
