Twenty-eight-year-old St Mary farmer Ranneil Hoilett is in custody following a major ganja bust on Wednesday in the Three Hills area in the parish.

Police report said that the ganja weighing 408 pounds with a street value of $6,120,000 was discovered at a house shortly after 5:00 p.m. by a team.

According to the lawmen, they were responding to a report in the area, when upon their arrival a male individual aroused their suspicion.

"The man was approached, questioned and further investigation led the officers to a nearby house,"commented Acting Superintendent of Police Anthony Wallace Head of the St Mary Police Division.

"Upon entering the premises, the team discovered multiple rooms within the house filled with ganja plants hanging from both the walls and ceiling--an apparent operation for drying and processing the illegal substance.

"As the investigation progressed, three motor vehicles were also seized in connection with the find, and are believed to be linked to the illicit operation," Wallace added.

According to Wallace, the police remains committed to disrupting the illegal drug trade and ensuring the safety and security of all communities across the island.
