61-y-o man fatally hit by taxi while walking in St Thomas
A 61-year-old man has succumbed to injuries he sustained after being hit by a taxi while walking along a roadway in St Thomas last night.
He is Assaro Stewart, a handcart operator of Bamboo River in Morant Bay.
Reports are that about 9:20, Stewart was walking in the vicinity of the Morant Bay Bus Park when he was hit by a Toyota Noah motor vehicle that was being operated as a public passenger vehicle.
He was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle was warned for prosecution.
The Morant Bay Traffic Department is investigating the matter.
