Firearm holder charged with killing neighbour in Papine

The St Andrew Central police have charged a licensed firearm holder for the shooting death of a resident of Tavern Avenue in Papine, St Andrew, last week.

Ishmael St Aubyn Davis, 52, otherwise called 'Mark', was charged yesterday with murder. The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Norris Farquharson, a welder of 30 Tavern Avenue. Investigators say that on May 27 about 7 a.m., the two men had a heated dispute in their community. During the dispute, Davis pulled his firearm and opened fire on Farquharson. The incident was caught on CCTV.

Davis was initially taken into custody, and after viewing the footage, investigators charged him. Davis has reportedly claimed he acted in self-defence.
