Three men fatally shot during alleged confrontation with cops

The deaths of three men who were shot by police after an alleged altercation on Wednesday are being investigated by the Independent Commission of Investigations.

The police say two loaded guns, including an AK-47 rifle, were seized.

It is reported that about 8:50 p.m., cops were conducting a targeted operation in Salem, Runaway Bay when they were reportedly challenged by armed men.

The police took evasive action and returned fire, hitting the three men.

They were assisted to the St Ann's Bay Regional Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
