Man pleads guilty to causing death in traffic accident four years ago

Twenty-five-year-old Akeel Gordon, who caused a traffic accident in Portmore, St Catherine, four years ago, pleaded guilty regarding the death of his passenger in the Circuit Court yesterday.

When Gordon appeared before Justice Dale Palmer he plead guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

Dead is Tarice Barrington.

Gordon's bail was extended until July 29, when he is set to reappear for sentencing.

Facts are that on June 12,2021, Gordon was driving a Toyota Axio motorcar along the Municipal Boulevard in Portmore when it collided with a Toyota Hiace motor truck.

The impact resulted in Barrington's injury, he was assisted to the Spanish Town Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation in the matter resulted in Gordon's arrest and subsequent charge.

He is being represented by Attorney-at-Law Denise Hinson.
