19-y-o arrested for suspected role in murder of alleged leader of 440 Drive gang
The St Mary police have taken into custody 19-year-old Rasheed Shepherd, also known as 'Jermie', who is a suspect in the recent murder of alleged leader of the 440 Drive gang.
Shepherd is of Wilmot Drive, Drewsland, Kingston 20.
It is understood that the police, acting on intelligence, apprehended Shepherd about 6:00 a.m. on Monday, in the Lebanon Housing Scheme of Islington, in the parish.
"Shepherd is a suspect in the June 11, 2025 murder of Mark Harrison, otherwise called 'Mark 2', the alleged leader of the 440 Drive gang,"said Anthony Wallace, Commanding officer for the St Mary Police Division.
According to Wallace, the incident occurred about 11:00 p.m., at Harrison's residence on 440 Drive, Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11.
Shepherd reportedly fled the area following the alleged killing, and was being tracked by the police, who were reportedly hot on his heels up to the time of his arrest.
"The Jamaica Constabulary Force remains committed to working collaboratively across divisions to pursue wanted individuals and ensure public safety, "Wallace added.
