Man shot dead by uncle after alleged machete attack

A property dispute in St Catherine ends violently when a man is shot dead by his uncle after the man allegedly chopped him with a machete.

Dead is Demar Facey, a 31-year-old labourer of Swamp Lane, Bog Walk in St Catherine.

Reports are that about 8:30 a.m. yesterday, both men were at the uncle's residence, also in Swamp Lane, arguing over a piece of property.

Facey then attacked his uncle, a licensed firearm holder, who fired in response.

Both parties injured each other during the incident and were taken to the Linstead Hospital where both were admitted.

Facey later succumbed to his injuries.

The Bog Walk police in the St Catherine North Division have confirmed its investigating the matter.
