Wanted murder suspect fatally shot in police confrontation

An alleged confrontation with the police this morning in Hanover resulted in the shooting death of a man wanted for murder.

The police say the deceased, Gary Pryce, was featured on their wanted Wednesday campaign two weeks ago.

Pryce was fatally shot in Old Pen district in the parish.

The police say a nine-millimetre pistol and 2 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition were seized.

Investigations are still ongoing.

The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has also been notified.

As of June 12, 148 people have been killed in police shootings, according to INDECOM.

So far there have been 12 recorded deaths for the month of June.
