Chicken craze, police called to manage KFC flock in Linstead
The police had to be called to maintain order as a large number of people flocked to the KFC in Linstead, St Catherine to take advantage of the Big Deal Brawta.
The franchise, which is celebrating 50 years in Jamaica, is offering customers a special promotion of Meal Deal in addition to their Big Deal order.
In a TVJ interview, Mark Myers stated, "We are honouring our customers and so we are giving back."
Customers braved the intense heat at the Linstead store in order to obtain numbers and take advantage of the offer.
Police nearby observed as customers argue over who should be served and how much to order.
A loyal KFC customer named Marcia Bernard said, "Mi affi get the chicken deal, cause is long time I am buying here and it a double today."
Meanwhile the staff were busy trying to fill the orders as they came in.
The consensus is that it was simply KFC day and customers see it as a "Big Deal" to support.
KFC opened in Jamaica 50 years ago on June 18,1975 and has been expanding since with 40 locations islandwide.
