False teeth lost on bus

False teeth, a jar of honey and a frozen turkey have been lost property items on Megabus coaches in England.

The British transport firm has also found insulin, a cooking wok and family tree records stashed in its buses.

Megabus' lost property office in Glasgow, Scotland - which has been contacted regarding 469 lost items - has said 95 per cent of items that have been reported as missing, have been reunited with the owners.

However, items that are not claimed after 28 days of being registered as lost property are often donated to charity.

Megabus receptionist Angela is quoted by STV News as saying: "Over many years of dealing with an eclectic mix of lost property items, our lost property team have almost become immune to weird and wonderful finds, but we still get something handed in that surprises us every now and again.

"The most important thing, of course, is to try and make sure we can reunite as many of the items as possible with their owners, and we work hard to do that as we know how frustrating and upsetting it can be to lose something while travelling."

Bathroom browsing could trigger diarrhoea

People who use their electronic devices on the toilet risk their chance of getting diarrhoea and stomach cramps.

Fecal bacteria, such as E. coli, and Pseudomonas - which can trigger infections in the blood and lungs - can get onto the smart devices when they are in the bathroom.

Even if people wash their hands with soap, the germs can travel back to a person's hands.

Therefore, it is recommended that smartphones, tablets or other electronic devices are kept out of the bathroom, and regularly sanitised with alcohol wipes to prevent people from coming into contact with fecal bacteria.

Doctor Primrose Freestone, a professor of clinical microbiology at the University of Leicester, told MailOnline: "The phone will at some point get contaminated, so periodically disinfecting your phone is a good idea."

She also said to avoid putting electronic devices on the floor around the toilet because it would - if not disinfected frequently - have traces of faeces."

The expert said: "The floor around the toilet will - if not disinfected regularly - have traces of faeces with lots of gut bacteria, which will stay alive for hours and days.

"So I would not put your phone on the floor next to the toilet as it is likely to pick up the faeces and the bacteria associated with the waste product."

1,180 people bite into history books

A new cheese tasting world record has been set.

In total 1,180 people sampled three different kinds of cheese made by the dairy company Alpina Productos Alimenticios S.A.S BIC's products in the municipality of Sopo, Cundinamarca, Colombia.

The samples - which highlighted the history, tradition and quality of the Alpina brand - were the Gruyere cheese, which symbolised the firm's origins and its maturing process, the Sopo cheese, which was created for the company's 70th anniversary in 2015, and the Argovia cheese, which was made for Alpina's 80th birthday, and represents "European techniques and Colombia's dairy richness".

All 1,180 participants successfully set the new record, which was previously done by the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Association in Australia, where 1,000 people feasted on cheese.

Natalia Ramirez, a Guinness World Records adjudicator, who was present at the event in Sopo, on May 25, said: "As the official Adjudicator of this record attempt, I am delighted to witness such a passionate gathering of cheese enthusiasts.

"This event not only celebrates the art of cheese tasting, but it also highlights Alpina's dedication to excellence in the dairy industry.

"Congratulations to all participants for making this historic milestone possible!"
