Health Ministry warns against unregulated sex boosters
Jamaicans are being warned to steer clear of three dangerous sex enhancement products being sold online and informal vendors, as health officials warn over potentially life-threatening side effects.
The Health Ministry has identified "Black Bull Extreme", "Erectemax", and "Royal Honey" as the unregulated sexual enhancement products.
With the "Black Bull Extreme" being advertised as a dietary supplement.
A public statement released by the ministry on Wednesday said the products contain "undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients", citing laboratory analysis conducted by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
"These undeclared ingredients may cause harmful health effects, especially in individuals with underlying medical conditions or those taking prescription medications," the statement said.
It urged the public to purchase health products only from licensed and authorised distributors.
Persons who have encountered these products are being asked to make a report to the health ministry via the email address PharmWatch@moh.gov.jm or contact its standards and regulation division at 52 - 60 Grenada Crescent in New Kingston.
