History has been uncorked at Appleton Estate, as Jamaica's revered 275-year-old distillery, unveiled The Source 51-Year-Old - the rarest, longest-aged rum ever to emerge from its storied cellars.

With only 25 luxurious decanters released worldwide, this once-in-a-lifetime expression stands as a breathtaking monument to craftsmanship, patience, and Jamaican heritage.

Laid down on July 30, 1973, in a single American oak cask, The Source is a single marque rum born from Appleton's own sugar cane, open fermented and distilled in traditional copper pot stills. First guided by master blender Owen Tulloch, the barrel's legacy was later entrusted to none other than Dr Joy Spence, the first female Master Blender in the spirits world.

Drawn from the cask in January 2025, this tropical-aged marvel bursts with deep, natural colour and intensely layered flavours - made possible only by decades of careful ageing in Jamaica's warm, humid climate.

"This release is a tribute to the artistry, dedication, and spirit of our people; from the hand-harvested cane and traditional distillation to the stewardship of our barrels across generations. Jamaica and rum are inseparable, much like the heart and soul captured in The Source," Spence said.
