Ammo seized from US coach at Norman Manley International Airport

A 47-year-old foreign national was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport yesterday after 38 rounds of ammunition were seized from his luggage.

Reports are that about 2:40 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, the man's luggage was being searched when 31 rounds of 5.56 ammunition and seven rounds of 9mm cartridges were discovered.

He was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized possession of ammunition.

The United States Embassy has been informed.

The police continue their investigation into the matter.
