We are ready for victory, says PNP president Mark Golding
People's National Party (PNP) President Mark Golding says his party will be victorious in the September 3 general election.
The election date was announced on Sunday evening by Prime Minister and Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Leader Dr Andrew Holness during a mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew. Nomination Day is set for August 18.
Holness is seeking a third consecutive term in office.
Reacting to the announcement in an interview with TVJ, Golding said the PNP is ready and prepared to take over the government, adding that the party is united and strong.
He said the PNP has been sharing a message of hope with Jamaicans and is ready to tackle the country's challenges and improve the lives of the people.
Golding added that the PNP will release its election manifesto on Tuesday, which he said will outline the party's plans and programmes to make the lives of Jamaicans better.
