Detectives assigned to the St Andrew Central Police Division have charged two taxi operators with conspiracy and larceny of motor vehicle following an incident on Burlington Avenue, Kingston 19, on August 10.

Charged is 31-year-old Jermaine Knight, of Long Lane, Kingston 8, and 22-year-old Shai Smythe, of a Kingston 19 address. Reports from the Half-Way Tree police are that the complainant parked his Toyota Hiace bus in the area at about 4:40 p.m., and went to an event. The following day, Knight and Smythe were apprehended by lawmen along the Bog Walk main road in St Catherine while they were effecting repairs to the stolen vehicle. Both men were charged on Monday, following a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorneys.

Court dates for both are being finalised.
