STAR Sports has learned that veteran netball coach Minneth Reynolds has resigned her post as head coach of Jamaica's Sunshine Girls team.

Reynolds resignation comes on the heels of the Sunshine Girls 2-1 series victory over rivals England Roses on Sunday.

The team returned to the island from the United Kingdom on Wednesday afternoon.

Star Sports was reliable informed that Reynolds' resignation was rejected by Netball Jamaica's president Dr Paula Daley-Morris.

When contacted yesterday, Reynolds said she would not discuss the matter.

"I will not say anything about the netball at this time," she told STAR Sports.

Reynolds was appointed Sunshine Girls in 2014 when she took over from Oberon Pitterson-Nattie.

She has had mixed results during her tenure as head coach as the Sunshine Girls finished fourth at the 2015 World Championships in Sydney, Australia.

The Jamaicans also failed to win a match against the top sides Australia and New Zealand under Reynolds' watch.
