Berger League continues tonight

Manchester Spurs and St Catherine Racers will clash in today's feature game in the Berger Elite League at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 6 p.m.

The Spurs, who have recorded one win and one defeat from their two matches, are on four points.

Racers have nine points from four matches.

Coach of the Spurs, Connie Francis, said Racers are a very good all-round team, but she is confident that her team can come out the victors once they stick to their game plan.

"We have to come out with our A game and execute well. We have to shoot because we have been struggling in this department for a little while now," said the veteran coach.

INTERCEPTIONS NEEDED

Francis added that her team must make interceptions by forcing the Racers, in turning over ball. She said her side must capitalise on this by scoring off each turnover.

"We also have to defend well because we have to be confident to know that we can make stops and interrupt the flow of our opponents' game," Francis said.

The Spurs will be looking to key players Shantel Slater, Crystal Grant, Zonash Hinds and Nicole Dixon to lead their charge to victory.

Meanwhile, coach of Racers, Christopher Smart, said he expects a tough game from the Spurs.

"I am expecting it to be very interesting game because they haven't lost any match as yet," said Smart.

"However, we are confident that we can beat Manchester because we have the quality, and things are going well in training for us," Smart added.

The Racers will be depending heavily on the likes of Anny-Kay Griffths, Khadijah Williams, Nordia Hanson and Samantha White to lead their charge to victory.

Meanwhile, in the second match of the double-header, leaders St Ann Orchids will take on defending champions Clarendon Gaters at 7 p.m.
