Twenty-four hours before the deadline for applications for the post of head coach of the Jamaica Sunshine Girls, President of Netball Jamaica Dr Paula Daley-Morris says just two individuals have applied for the job.

The Sunshine Girls have been without a head coach since November, after the resignation Minneth Reynolds.

Daley-Morris said the two applicants are very competent individuals, who are capable of leading the Sunshine Girls unit.

"We have two strong applicants in the bag right now," said Daley-Morris. "I personally have not reviewed the applications yet because I am going to wait until the 17th (February) when the committee does the review," said Daley-Morris. She declined to name the individuals who have applied for the job.

"I cannot tell you who they are, but I know that we have two applicants," she said.

Daley-Morris said the applicants will be called on to submit copies of their coaching qualifications before interviews are done.

Meanwhile, STAR Sports has been reliably informed that former player Connie Francis is among the two who have applied for the job.

Two veteran male coaches, Sylvester Campbell and Winston Nevers, have both said they are not interested in the job.
