Kirk Brown of Ward's Power Tools strikes a pose after Sunday.

Kirk Brown, who was sponsored by Ward's Power Tools, ran away with the coveted male 10K title at Sunday's 4th annual MoBay City Run.

He was followed to the finishing line by Kemar Leslie and Rym Chambers.

"I am grateful for the sponsorship as well as this victory, because this is my first time entering this event," said Brown, who hails from St Ann.

Brown walked away with $10,000, a plaque, a smartphone and a JetBlue travel certificate for his winning effort.

Chrissan Lewis, another Ward's Power Tools-sponsored participant, won the female 10K. She came home ahead of Karlene Blagrove and Jozanne Harris, who took second and third places.

In the male 5K run, Dwayne Graham of Ward's Power Tools took the event in fine style, running away from Lenford Adams, who took second place. Third spot went to Ackeem Colley.

Juliet Dinnal won the female equlavent, while sisters Daneita and Jessie Ann Peat came in second and third, respectively.

In the 3K run, which was being staged for the first time, Conrad Daley of Howard Cooke Primary School in Montego Bay was an easy winner. The event featured children ranging in ages from three to 12 years old.

"I find the race quite easy because I do tracks and play football," said Daley, who is a grade-five student.
