Dinthill, CC clash in Ben Francis final

The first piece of silverware of the rural schoolboy football season is up for grabs this afternoon at the STETHS Sports Complex as the final of the ISSA/FLOW Ben Francis KO Cup will see Dinthill Technical and Clarendon College (CC), the two most attacking teams, go head to head, kicking off at 3 p.m.

Clarendon College have been impressive so far and are looking to extend their 100 per cent win record without regular starters Ricardo McIntosh and Sanjay Williams, who are both suspended. This makes things more interesting and to add to the mix, Clarendon College will also have to deal with the young Reggae Boy Kaheem Parris, who has scored 29 goals this season in all competitions.

However, Byjeon Thomas coach of Clarendon College said one player isn't his focus as this is a final and they are up and ready to take down what is a strong Dinthill team.

"It is a final so we are up and ready for it so yes. Kaheem Parris is a brilliant player but we are not preparing to play against just him, we are going to play against Dinthill, so, as usual, we will go into this match trying to outscore our opponents," said Thomas.

VERY HUNGRY

Dinthill's Manager Everton Burke told Star Sports that his team is very hungry for this title especially considering this is the school's first trip to the final. When asked about what he thought of facing Clarendon College without two of their regular starters, he said they are not focused on that as his opponent boasts a strong unit with many playmakers.

"The CC unit is a very strong one so I wouldn't say losing two players they will become a weak unit because I know they have players that can show up for them. We don't have it on our minds that they are a weakened team, we will still go out there and play them hard as they are a strong team, so I guess on the day it's who wants it more," said Burke.
