Montego Bay United (MBU) technical director Timothy Hankinson has yet again levied criticism at his team's efforts in attack, after Sunday's 1-1 home draw with Arnett Gardens in the Red Stripe Premier League.

Hankinson, while noting that he saw good things about MBU's performance, said that continuing to play how they did will not put the 2016 champions in the playoff round.

"We wanted more out of it, no question, but I think that Arnett played like a defending champion today. If I was to look at the number of approaches and chances we had in the final third, towards their goal, we have to do better if we are to get three points against the defending champions. Great efforts by the team, but if we are to be a play-off team we have to win games like this," said Hankinson.

GETTING TO THE PLAY-OFFS

The American had recently told STAR Sports that getting into the play-offs is vital as from there, any team can win the league. Their opponents from Trench Town are an example of this, having snuck into the play-offs from sixth last season, before going on to be crowned national champions.

This is not the first time Hankinson publicly criticised his team's efforts in front of goal this season, having previously complained about a lack of firepower.

"I think defensively we are solid, Xavier (Hutchinson) has come a long way as a goalkeeper. Our defensive midfield is strong, however, our attacking group is not strong enough. Everything is on Dino's (Williams) shoulders because I don't see any other goalscorers in the group, nor any young players coming up that's going to be the next goalscorer," Hankinson said in the February 10 edition of STAR Sports.

Arnett took an early lead from a 24th-minute strike by Jason Moore, but then their midfielder Steve Clarke was sent off by referee Carl Terrell in the 38th for violent conduct. Ronaldo Rodney found the equaliser for MBU in the 54th minute, but despite creating numerous chance and throwing everything at the defending champions, they could not find the winner.
